Who is "yaak"? I'm a half-Sepharadi, half-Ashkenazi, Haredi Zionist. I hope that clears it all up. :-) I went to a Haredi elementary school, a mixed Haredi/modern high school, Haredi Yeshiva in Israel, and back to a mixed Yeshiva after that. We may attempt to visualize the events between Pesach 5777 and Pesach 5778. Relevant scholars of Geulah have identified this time period as the most troublesome in the human history.
Never before powerful state entities are on the collision tracks, notably the use of nuclear weapons, the use of chemical weapons, and potential of biological weapons. The holy texts give hints to such outcomes.
The scenario appears to be like that when US did strike Syria and Afghanistan, unannounced, unexpected.
At the end of this time period, on the last day of Pesach 5778, Mashiach may appear in the open. Eliyahu haNavi will discover the Mashiach, and anoint him.
By witnessing what is happening on the world arena and correlate the events with Mashiach-related sources we are able to better understand and have some certainties, although nothing is really a must. As Judaism is rational, we use our deductive reasoning to understand such issues.
There isn't escape from the time of troubles of Yaakov. Goim and Yehudim alike. No acts of teshuva to Hashem will sweetened the painful outcome, it's too late to spare Am Yisrael. The Geulah texts point to it.
