Ethiopian Aliya - Final Push Commences

Arutz Sheva:
A charter flight carrying approximately 240 new immigrants from Ethiopia is scheduled to arrive at Ben-Gurion Airport on Monday.

The flight is the first of a series of monthly flights planned as part of Operation Dove’s Wings, a government initiative to speed up the place of aliyah and bring the remainder of the Falash Mura, members of the Ethiopian Jewish community who were forcibly converted to Christianity during the 19th and 20th centuries, to Israel.

The Jewish Agency’s Ibim Absorption Center in the Negev is set to reopen in order to accommodate a number of the new immigrants. The rest will be spread among an additional 16 absorption centers throughout Israel operated by the Jewish Agency and the Absorption Ministry.

The 17.5-million-shekel operation is scheduled to be completed by October 2013.

Yeshaya 11:11, referring to the Kibbutz Galuyot in the time of Mashiah:
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord will set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, that shall remain from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
Note: Cush is very frequently translated as "Ethiopia", although there may be other interpretations, such as Sudan and India.

Next one on the list is Elam.  That one may be a bit more difficult.

They are the castaways from the Land of Egypt. When Senchariv sacked Memphis, Mitzraim, they brought with them porters from Naftali, Asher, and Dan to help with the military mission. Once Senchariv was complete, he forced the Israelite porters out of southern Mitzraim into the ancient Land of the Malkah Shva where a more ancient Jewish kingdom was founded by her son and Shlomo's son Menelik along with Shlichim from the Tribe of Dan 200 years earlier. Interestingly, the Blue Nile with its source of Lake Tanna in Ethiopia had a name in ancient Ge'ez called the Sanbat River. The idea being that the river raged all week long so that the Jews could not return to Israel, but on Shabbat the Sanbat was placid but because it was Shabbat, Ethiopian Jews could not return to Eretz Yisrael. The startling fact is though, that Operation Shlomo v'Shva in 1991 for the most part took place on Shabbat in the very narrow window of time between when the Ethiopian government withdrew from the airport in Addis Ababa and before the rebels took the airport a little more than a day later. The time period in between was Shabbat.

"We have not done the Ethiopians any favours by bringing the over, neither for them nor for us" (MK Natan Sharansky).

"The Ethiopians are plain Ethiopian blacks who are not our brothers" (Rabbi Avigdor Miller of Brooklyn tape 853).

"The Falashas are not Jews - they require full Halachic conversion on an individual basis to be performed outside of Eretz Yisrael. Israel will in the future sore regret bringing them over en masse" (Lubavitcher Rebbe 1985)!

I agree with Annon. We are being flooded by non-Jews, part of the globalist agenda to rid us of our precious land and to get us out of their way for setting up their "world court" here in Jerusalem.

From Wikipedia:

In summary, Rav Ovadia Yosef Shlit"a and Rav Amar Shlit"a support their arrival, provided there are conditions in place that prevent trickery with mixed couples.

The Radbaz said centuries ago, 500 years ago!, that the Ethiopian Jews were a kehilah of Jews that should be redeemed with pikuach nefesh if necessary. I don't understand why there is a debate about that. The questions comes to individuals in the community who may have converted improperly or may have been the children of such converts. So the Safek is only on the individuals. So for the sake of pikuach nefesh we bring them all in. For the sake of marrying in with them we ask for mikvah conversions, and in some cases drawing a drop of blood for questionable Brit Milah. One should be careful with asking for the latter. Most of the original Olim from Ethiopia had proper Brit Milah.

Now there is a problem with many Ethiopian claims for certain individuals. This is especially the case with Falash Mura. They have been Marrannos for generations. The Falash Mura are problematic in this respect. The original rescues of Operations Moshe, Yehoshua, and Shlomo were completely appropriate and halakhically necessary even according to the Radbaz. The Falash Mura rescues are questionable, but Rav Ovadia Yosef and Rav Amar say that they too are halakhic. So we do what we are supposed to do.

Conversion does not help with possible mamzerut.

If they were definite mamzerin, you'd be right. However, the Radvaz and Rav Ovadia (Yabi'a Omer vol. 8 EH"A siman 11) and Rav Moshe Feinstein quoted there say that the concern of safek mamzerut is so minute that it doesn't count.

Israelites from Elam, Shinar and Hamat.

The most fitting folk for this are the Kurds. They are genetically very close related to Sephardim and Mizrachim jewish populations. The monotheist Yezidi Kurds have even almost the same year counting as the jewish calendar (minus 10 years).
